June 24

Yesterday we started by writing in our journals.  We had our last drumming session.  We did calendar.  We had literacy centers.  We started a grade one memory book.  After lunch we did mindfulness and changed our home reading books for the last time.  We had gym.  We made origami flowers for our seasons medicine wheel.  We drew a picture of what animals, plants and people do in the summer.

Today we started with quiet reading.  We did calendar and we had literacy centers.  We had our last word review.  Please check your child's backpack to see how they did.   We had a whole school celebration of our work with the Drumming Residency.


If you have not returned your child's home reading book (book in the yellow folder), please do so on Monday.  If it is lost, please send $5.00 so it can be replaced.


We are bringing some of our work home today.  Please empty your child's backpack so we have room to bring the rest of our work home next week.


Tuesday, June 28th is the last day of school.

June 27

 Today we started with writing in our journals about what we hope to do this summer.  We did calendar and we had literacy centers.  We did Mathletics and Raz Kids on the iPads.  After lunch we did mindfulness.  We had gym.  We worked on our Grade 1 memory books. Please return home reading books or send $5.00 to replace them. Tomorrow is the last day of school. Report cards will be available online tomorrow through your child's CBE account.  Please contact me if you have any questions.

Yesterday we started with quiet reading and we changed our library books.  We had music with Mr. Wiens.  We did calendar.  We started a plan so we can write a story.  We decided on characters, the setting, the problem and the solution.  We did mindfulness and we changed our home reading books.  We had gym.  We had literacy centers.  We started an experiment in science.  We put celery in a cup with food colouring.  We made a hypothesis about what we think will happen.   Today we started with quiet reading and catch up time.  We did calendar.  We had literacy centers.  We looked at what happened to our celery and wrote about it.  After lunch we did mindfulness and we changed our home reading books.  We had gym.  We did a survey before the drumming residency that the school is doing next week.  We did Mathletics and RazKids on the iPads.
