 We did a fantastic job at the Spring Concert last night.

 Yesterday was a very busy day.  We started with quiet reading and we did calendar.  We had literacy centers.  We had a rehearsal for the Spring Concert.  We started some math assessments.  After lunch we had mindfulness and we changed our home reading books.  We had gym outside.  We did a final rehearsal in front of the rest rest of the school.  We did iPads.

Today we started with quiet reading.  We did calendar and we had literacy centers.  We did a "making connections" activity.  We listened to the story "Giraffes Can't Dance".  We wrote about our connections to the story in our journal.  We did mindfulness and we changed our home reading books.  We had gym with Mrs. Sterne.  We went and watched the final rehearsal for the grades 4-6 Spring Concert. We continued with the math assessments.

We sent home a permission slip for your child to participate in the Teacher's Pet Program that will be coming to our class on June 2.  Please sign and return the form as soon as possible.  The cost of this program is $6.00 (Thank you to Parent Council for subsidizing this program).  Please pay through your CBE PowerSchool account or you can pay by debit in the school office.

 Yesterday we started by watching a Alphablocks video.  We did calendar and we practiced drawing shapes.  We counted the sides and vertices of the shapes.  We did literacy centers.  We had indoor recess since it was so cold outside.  We learned about the letter C.  We talked about the 2 sounds it makes and we brainstormed words that begin with C.  We practiced printing it on our whiteboards and in our printing books.  We drew and labelled pictures and some of us wrote sentences with C words in them.  After lunch we finished our C work.  We played floor hockey in gym and we had another indoor recess.  We wrote our numbers as high as we can go (or filled in missing numbers if we can write our numbers correctly to 100).  We did Mathletics and Raz Kids on the iPads. Yesterday we started with quiet reading and we changed our library books (we keep them in our desk).  We had music with Mr. Weins.  We did calendar and we practiced making numbers using ones blocks and tens rods.  We Filled in missing words in our Fall Changes book.   We used our poems to help us spell the words.  We did mindfulness and we practiced our sounds by doing our gumball activity.  In gym we used scooters.  We worked on the number 11.  We got out 11 blocks and we used them to make different number sentences (e.g. 5+6=11).  We practiced printing it and we showed different ways that we can represent 11.  We started talking about our families today.  We shared things we like to do with our family.
