May 11

 Yesterday we started with quiet reading and we changed our library books.  We did calendar and we had literacy centers.  We are working on making connections with stories to help with our understanding of stories.  We read "The Ok Book".  We wrote about 3 things we are ok at and 1 thing we are excellent at.  After lunch we did mindfulness and we changed our home reading books.  We had gym with Mrs. Sterne.  In math we did our last 3D shape - the sphere.  We counted how many flat/curved faces, edges and vertices it has, as well as if it can roll or stack.  We "made" a sphere to bring home to show you.  We continued to learn the difference between living and non-living things.

Today we started with quiet reading.  We had music with Mr. Wiens.  We had another dance residency session.  It is so much fun!  We did calendar and we had literacy centers.  After lunch we did mindfulness and we changed our home reading books.  We played with the badminton rackets and birdies.  We did Mathletics and RazKids on the iPads.

Mrs. Young will be away tomorrow.

It's Spring! That time of year again where everything is new and beautiful and growing!

Beddington Heights Elementary is happy to be Fundraising with Growing Smiles once again we will be selling beautiful hanging baskets, along with many varieties of potted plants.

Our Campaign is starting Friday April 29th - Friday May 13th.

Orders will arrive Thursday May 26th at Beddington Heights School

 Pick up time to be determined closer to delivery date.

 Yesterday we started by watching a Alphablocks video.  We did calendar and we practiced drawing shapes.  We counted the sides and vertices of the shapes.  We did literacy centers.  We had indoor recess since it was so cold outside.  We learned about the letter C.  We talked about the 2 sounds it makes and we brainstormed words that begin with C.  We practiced printing it on our whiteboards and in our printing books.  We drew and labelled pictures and some of us wrote sentences with C words in them.  After lunch we finished our C work.  We played floor hockey in gym and we had another indoor recess.  We wrote our numbers as high as we can go (or filled in missing numbers if we can write our numbers correctly to 100).  We did Mathletics and Raz Kids on the iPads. Yesterday we started with quiet reading and we changed our library books (we keep them in our desk).  We had music with Mr. Weins.  We did calendar and we practiced making numbers using ones blocks and tens rods.  We Filled in missing words in our Fall Changes book.   We used our poems to help us spell the words.  We did mindfulness and we practiced our sounds by doing our gumball activity.  In gym we used scooters.  We worked on the number 11.  We got out 11 blocks and we used them to make different number sentences (e.g. 5+6=11).  We practiced printing it and we showed different ways that we can represent 11.  We started talking about our families today.  We shared things we like to do with our family.
