Yesterday we started with quiet reading.  We did calendar and we did our March weather graph.  We had literacy centers.  We did a making words activity.  We used the letters i, r, s, p, g, n to make 2, 3, 4 and 5 letter words.  We made the "secret word" that uses all the letters (spring).  After lunch we did mindfulness and we changed our home reading books.  We had gym with Mrs. Sterne.  W did our basic facts test.  We did two guided drawing videos of flowers.  We chose which one we wanted to do for a card for Mrs. Paolini's family.

Today we started with quiet reading.  We did calendar.  We had literacy centers and we had our word review.  Please check your child's backpack to see how they did.  Please continue practicing all word wall words.  We wrote messages in our cards for Mrs. Paolini's family.  We had gym. In Science, we learned about shades and tints of colours.  We added white and black to colours to see what happens.

Next week we will be taking part in an "art residency" program!  Each class will work on part of a large mural for the school.

 Yesterday we started by watching a Alphablocks video.  We did calendar and we practiced drawing shapes.  We counted the sides and vertices of the shapes.  We did literacy centers.  We had indoor recess since it was so cold outside.  We learned about the letter C.  We talked about the 2 sounds it makes and we brainstormed words that begin with C.  We practiced printing it on our whiteboards and in our printing books.  We drew and labelled pictures and some of us wrote sentences with C words in them.  After lunch we finished our C work.  We played floor hockey in gym and we had another indoor recess.  We wrote our numbers as high as we can go (or filled in missing numbers if we can write our numbers correctly to 100).  We did Mathletics and Raz Kids on the iPads. Yesterday we started with quiet reading and we changed our library books (we keep them in our desk).  We had music with Mr. Weins.  We did calendar and we practiced making numbers using ones blocks and tens rods.  We Filled in missing words in our Fall Changes book.   We used our poems to help us spell the words.  We did mindfulness and we practiced our sounds by doing our gumball activity.  In gym we used scooters.  We worked on the number 11.  We got out 11 blocks and we used them to make different number sentences (e.g. 5+6=11).  We practiced printing it and we showed different ways that we can represent 11.  We started talking about our families today.  We shared things we like to do with our family.
