Yesterday we started with quiet reading.  We did calendar.  We worked on identifying shapes and how many sides and vertices they have.  We learned about the letter M.  We talked about the sound it makes and about words that start with M.  We practiced printing it on our whiteboards and in our printing books.  We drew pictures and labelled things that start with M.  Some of us are being encouraged to try and write a sentence with a word that starts with M in it.  We did mindfulness and we practiced our sounds by doing our gumball activity.  We had gym with Mrs. Sterne. In math we learned about the order of numbers and how to tell which number is bigger.  We learned the greater than and less than signs.  We learned how to take care of our noses in science.

Today we started with quiet reading.  Some of us worked on our Pumpkin Shapes books.  We had music with Mr. Weins.  We did calendar and we practiced counting in different ways.  We did Student of the Day.  We learned that Izzy .  We practiced printing her name properly.  We wrote at least three sentences about her and drew a picture of her for our class books.  In math we worked on greater than, less than and equal to.  In science we did a smelling jar activity.  We used our sense of smell to try and identify different smells.  We will finish this tomorrow.

 Yesterday we started by watching a Alphablocks video.  We did calendar and we practiced drawing shapes.  We counted the sides and vertices of the shapes.  We did literacy centers.  We had indoor recess since it was so cold outside.  We learned about the letter C.  We talked about the 2 sounds it makes and we brainstormed words that begin with C.  We practiced printing it on our whiteboards and in our printing books.  We drew and labelled pictures and some of us wrote sentences with C words in them.  After lunch we finished our C work.  We played floor hockey in gym and we had another indoor recess.  We wrote our numbers as high as we can go (or filled in missing numbers if we can write our numbers correctly to 100).  We did Mathletics and Raz Kids on the iPads. Yesterday we started with quiet reading and we changed our library books (we keep them in our desk).  We had music with Mr. Weins.  We did calendar and we practiced making numbers using ones blocks and tens rods.  We Filled in missing words in our Fall Changes book.   We used our poems to help us spell the words.  We did mindfulness and we practiced our sounds by doing our gumball activity.  In gym we used scooters.  We worked on the number 11.  We got out 11 blocks and we used them to make different number sentences (e.g. 5+6=11).  We practiced printing it and we showed different ways that we can represent 11.  We started talking about our families today.  We shared things we like to do with our family.
