Oct 27

Yesterday we started with quiet reading and catch up time.  We are reading our "Look at Me" books to Mrs. Young.  We are working on tracking the words as we read.  We did calendar and we practiced counting in different ways.  We worked on our "at" word family words.  We talked about the onset of a word (the letters before the vowel) and the rime (the rest of the letters).  We are excited to read our new words.  In gym we are using scoops and balls.  In math we continued working on shapes and counting their sides and vertices.  We started learning about our sense of smell.  In our Super Senses book we drew something we can smell.

Today we started with quiet reading and catch up time.  We continued to take turns reading our "Look at Me" book to Mrs. Young.  We did calendar and we practiced counting in different ways.  We practiced reading our 5 Little Pumpkins poem.  We did another visualization activity.   We started to learn about "og" word family words.  We practiced reading them and we read a poem with many of them in it.  We talked about healthy vs treat foods.  We sorted different foods into healthy and treats.  We started making leaves with tissue paper to add to our medicine wheel to represent fall.

Friday, October 29 - Children can wear their Halloween costume if they wish.  Please remember that regular masks (that cover the mouth and nose) are still required.  No violent costumes please and leave accessories that are weapons - e.g. gun, swords, etc should be left at home.  We will still be participating in gym so please make sure your child can move freely in their costume.
