Oct 22

Yesterday we started with quiet reading.  We did calendar and we continued to work on names of shapes and how many sides and vertices they have.  We did a visualization activity.  We worked on the letter O.  We talked about the 2 sounds it makes and we practiced printing it on our whiteboards and in our printing books.  We drew and labelled pictures that start with O.  We had gym with Mrs. Sterne.  In math we worked on sorting shapes.  We had a fire drill.  We showed the big kids how quiet we can be.  In science we talked about ways we can keep our eyes safe.  We started our Super Senses book.  We wrote that we see with our eyes and we drew something we can see.

Today we started with quiet reading and catch up time.  We did calendar and we practiced counting in different ways.  We had gym.  We did the walk for Wenjack in honour of Chenie Wenjack.  After snack we talked about how people who are blind get around and how they read (Braille).  We made our names in Braille.  Some of us made names of other family members too.  We are bringing them home to show you.

Friday, October 29 - Children can wear their Halloween costume if they wish.  Please remember that regular masks (that cover the mouth and nose) are still required.  No violent costumes please and leave accessories that are weapons - e.g. gun, swords, etc should be left at home.  We will still be participating in gym so please make sure your child can move freely in their costume.
