Sept. 3
Yesterday we started with catch up and play dough time. We did calendar. We practiced our Days of the Week and Months of the Year Songs. We practiced making our own patterns on our whiteboards (we each have a whiteboard that we keep in our desk). We listened to a story called "Our Class is a Family". We played on the playground at recess. We started working in our printing books. We started with some pre-printing lines and shapes. We practiced the lines and shapes on our whiteboards then we practiced printing them in our printing books. We finished this work after lunch. We played tag in gym. After gym we learned some mindfulness breathing activities. After recess we started folding some paper for a guided drawing activity. We will start the drawing part tomorrow.
Today our day started with some quiet reading time. We did a really good job during quiet reading. We did calendar and practiced sorting shapes. We did a math activity where we cut and glued numbered ducks in order from 1 to 10. Some of us used rulers to help us recognize the order of the numbers. We had gym outside. We had music outside with Mr. Weins. We continued working on our guided drawing activity. We are doing a self portrait of ourselves. When the paper is folded we are wearing our masks. When it is unfolded we can see our smile. We did the face with a mask part today and we will continue with the rest next week.
We have had a good first week of school. If your child does not have inside shoes, please send some as soon as possible. We are working on taking bathroom breaks at appropriate times and not waiting until it is an emergency. We are only allowed to send one boy and one girl out at a time.
We are bringing a Digital Citizenship form home today. Please read it over with your child, sign it and return it to me next week. We use technology (usually iPads) in the classroom for literacy and math activities. If we do not have the signed Digital Citizenship form for you child, they will not be able to use it.
No School on Monday - Labour Day
Have a great weekend!
