Sept 17

Yesterday we started with quiet reading and catch up time.  We had music with Mr Weins.  We did calendar and we practiced counting by 1's and by 10's.  We did Student of the Day.  We learned how to print Faris' name properly and we learned that Faris    .  We drew a picture of Faris and we wrote 2 sentences about him to add to our class book.  In math we worked on ABC patterns.  We listened the story and the song Chicka Chicka Boom Boom.  We did a guided drawing of a coconut tree and we added the letters of our name, just like in the story.  We will finish them tomorrow.

Today we started with catch up time (Student of the Day and Chicka Chicka Boom Boom Trees).  We did calendar and we practiced counting by 1's and by 10's.  We had gym outside.  After snack we worked on the number 3.  We practiced printing it and we showed different ways to represent the number.  We drew pictures of things we like on a puzzle piece.  We put them all together to show that we are all different but we fit together to make a beautiful picture.  We watched a video called "terry Fox School Run Show".  It introduced us to Terry Fox and we talked about the reason we are doing the Terry Fox Run later this month.

Our annual Terry Fox Run is being held on Tuesday, September 28, 2021.  We will be doing our run during our gym classes to maintain our cohorts and physical distancing.  Unfortunately, families are not allowed to come participate or watch due to COVID restrictions.  Please make sure your child is dressed read to run on that day.  Proper outdoor footwear is required (running shoes please).  If the weather does not cooperate, we will do the run in the gym.  We are taking donations for the Terry Fox Foundation (for cancer research).  Our preferred method of donation is online.  You can access the Beddington Heights donation page:

Your child will be bringing home a pledge sheet.  It has more information on how to access the online donation page as well as room for bigger donations if you wish.  You can still just send in cash without the sheet.

We will be collecting donations until Oct. 1, 2021.  If the school raises at least $500, Mr. Shackelton will allow his students to dress him up and he will come around to each class to show us his outfit.

Last year we raised $1017.85.  Let’s see if we can raise even more this year!!!
